I finally finished the last and edit of Industry & Intrigue, the epic fantasy book I have been working on for the last 13 months. It's been a long time and an odd journey.
What had begun as an inkling of an idea for a fantasy trilogy almost four years ago spun into something far bigger and better than I could have conceived. As I wrote I found the story and the characters taking things in directions had not thought of and I quickly realised I could not contain the world I had created, or the story being told into only 3 books. Thus it expanded and I now have a planned 5 book series.
The first book is now available on kindle
For those who still prefer, good old-fashioned print books, it will be a little longer. I am getting the spine and back cover design done, but it should be within a week. The reason for this delay is because I could not get the spine and back made until I knew what the final page count would be as it would affect the sizing the artist would be drawing up.
So, now it's time to take a little break from novel writing. I've got a few more short stories to write up, but I want to get back into some serious reading of books. I have a long list of books I want to read and writing and editing has not elft me much time to read them. First off, Jim Butcher's Codex Alera series.
